This item is a Raeesi Dak Ticket (रसीदी डाक टिकट) of Aadha Anna (½ Anna) issued for Rajnandgaon, which was part of the Central Provinces during British India. It is not a regular postage stamp used to frank mail, but a postal receipt or fee ticket, issued as proof of payment for local dak or postal services such as handling, registration, or internal accounting. The stamp is printed in green ink on coarse paper using simple typographic methods, with inscriptions in Devanagari, reflecting local production rather than central postal printing. No year is printed on such tickets; however, based on the denomination in annas, printing style, and historical postal practices, it can be dated approximately to the early 20th century, around 1910–1935. These tickets were typically affixed to documents or registers, which explains why surviving examples are often found mounted or with signs of prior use.
