Discover a variant of the rare 1888 Wadhwan State ½ Pice stamp, issued under the Jhala dynasty rulers of Wadhwan as one of the very first postage stamps released by an Indian princely state. Early Wadhwan issues are particularly prized by collectors for their subtle differences in paper, ink shade, and typesetting — small variations that tell rich stories about local printing under princely administration.
Printed in red on yellowish paper using a basic typeset method, the ½ Pice carries the minimalist visual language of a state asserting its own postal identity at a time when most regional kingdoms relied on the broader colonial system.
